How I Baby Proofed my home

How I Baby Proofed my home

Since last couple of weeks, Noddy has been showing a lot of progress in his milestones. He loves to stand up with support and wants to explore every corner of the house.

We as parents are always worried about his safety so we installed a couple of things at our home to keep him safe.

BED RAIL

We bought it here. It’s easy to install and use. It can swing down when not required and  has a metal frame which makes it sturdy enough to hold baby’s weight. In fact it acts as a great support for him to stand up.We have installed it on one side of the bed as others are close to the wall.

EDGE AND CORNER GUARD

Like all babies, Noddy loves playing, moving and exploring but while he  enjoys this, I am always worried that he might suddenly hurt himself on sharp edges or corners.

To prevent this, we have installed this on the corners of the bed to prevent any injury. It is a foam based material which can easily be stuck on the edges and corners using a double sided tape in the kit.

  1. Thanks for this! I remember searching for reviews on baby proofing products and not finding any, back when my daughter was starting to explore. I ended up randomly buying some stuff off Firstcry, but a bed rail would have come very handy!

  2. I have been planning to do this since long. Though have moved a lot of furniture play form the play area

  3. I have a four year old and a 1 year old at home. I was managing till now safely with no major casualties. But recently the two boys have become more interacctive with each other which means I have to be on my foot all the time. I think I am going to get the corner guards at the earliest. Thanks for this wonderful post.

  4. Even though I wanted to, we didn’t get the baby proofing done and managed without it. I am glad you did this at the right time. It’s very important to ensure the baby has a safe environment to play in.

  5. Baby-proofing is like a must when kids start moving around. We did an entire floor bedding in our room for the same reasons. Also bought many cupboard locks and door stoppers !

  6. Glad you were able to find this…for me and my son we had to shift our matress on the floor..as we couldnt really find anything that would fit our king size bed. My bub used to think the bed as the jungle and he was the king of that jungle to roam around everywhere. 😉

  7. Really handy baby proofing tips. Bed rails are fantastic for toddlers too when they shift from cot to a toddler bed. 🙂
